The Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) basketball nipped the host Paradise Valley Trojans (Phoenix, AZ), 54-52 in Tuesday's non-league contest.

The Firebirds now sport a 5-17 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Notre Dame Prep for a 5A Northeast Valley contest on Thursday, February 22. Chaparral will meet a Saints team coming off a 68-65 non-league loss to Sunnyslope (Phoenix, AZ). The Saints record now stands at 23-4.
