Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Pelahatchie Chiefs (Pelahatchie, MS), 71-18 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Northwest Rankin upgrades its record to 27-10 on the season. The Cougars travel to McLaurin (Florence, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 29. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 2-22. McLaurin lost 55-21 in their recent non-league bout against Enterprise (Enterprise, MS)

Next up, the Chiefs play the Heidelberg Oilers (Heidelberg, MS) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 24. Pelahatchie will attempt to upgrade on its 23-7 season record. The Oilers go into the bout with a 20-7 record after their 44-42 non-league win over Newton (Newton, MS).
