Kentucky High School Basketball - Walton-Verona holds off Sayre
February 20, 2025: Walton, KY 41094 In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Walton-Verona Bearcats basketball team scored a close 62-60 triumph over the Sayre Spartans.
The Bearcats (19-11) will now prepare for their contest against Grant County (Dry Ridge, KY). The Braves go into the non-league contest with a 10-17 record. In their last contest, Grant County was tipped by Pendleton County (Falmouth, KY), 54-53, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Spartans confront the Scott County Cardinals (Georgetown, KY) in a non-league contest, on Monday, February 24. Sayre will attempt to better on its 16-11 season record. The Cardinals go into the contest with a 6-19 record after their 80-56 non-league loss to George Rogers Clark (Winchester, KY).
