The Mitchell Mountaineers basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting East Wilkes Cardinals to 27 in the Mountaineers non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mountaineers now sport a 13-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Murphy for a non-league contest on Thursday, February 24. Mitchell will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 72-21 non-league win over Elkin (Elkin, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 24-3.
