February 23, 2024: Eunice, LA 70535 Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays (Eunice, LA) and the visiting Ascension Episcopal (Lafayette, LA), witnessed St. Edmund's softball squad prevail over Ascension Episcopal by a count of 17-2.
The Fighting Blue Jays now sport a 3-1 record. They play next when they host Notre Dame for a non-league match on Monday, February 26. St. Edmund will face a Pioneers squad coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to Houston Christian (Houston, TX). The Pioneers record now stands at 4-2.
With the loss, Ascension Episcopal moves to 0-4 on the season. The host Franklin (Franklin, LA) to face the Hornets in a 2A District 8 match on Tuesday, February 27. The Hornets go into the match with a record of 0-3. Franklin lost 19-0 in their recent non-league match against Gueydan (Gueydan, LA)
