In Friday's non-league outing, the host Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots softball team scored a nice 16-2 win over the Vela Sabercats.

Coming up next, the Patriots battle the Juarez-Lincoln Huskies (La Joya, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 outing, on Tuesday, February 27. Mission Veterans Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record. The Huskies enter the outing with a 4-4 record after their 14-2 non-league win over Hidalgo (Hidalgo, TX).

The Sabercats (4-9) will now prepare for their outing against La Joya (La Joya, TX). The Coyotes enter the non-league outing with a 4-2 record. In their last outing, La Joya ran past Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX), 12-0, in a non-league outing.
