Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Leander Lions (Leander, TX), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Rangers now own a 3-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fredericksburg for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 25. Smithson Valley will face a Billies squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Rouse (Leander, TX). The Billies record now stands at 8-3.

With the loss, Leander falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Cooper (Lubbock, TX) to face the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 25. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 5-0. Cooper won 11-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Vista Ridge (Cedar Park, TX)
