In Saturday's non-league outing, the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) basketball squad beat the visiting South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC), by a count of 58-44.

The Pioneers (23-6) will now prepare for their outing against Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars go into the non-league outing with a 24-6 record. In their last outing, Charlotte Catholic defeated Northern Guilford (Greensboro, NC), 58-53, in a non-league outing.
