Texas High School Softball - Weslaco East nudges Wharton
February 25, 2023: Wharton, TX 77488 Weslaco East Wildcats (Weslaco, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Wharton Tigers (Wharton, TX), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.
The Wildcats now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Skidmore-Tynan for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 25. Weslaco East will battle a Bobcats squad coming off a 19-0 non-league loss to Gateway College Preparatory (Georgetown, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 5-4.
With the loss, Wharton falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Tigers host El Campo (El Campo, TX) to battle the Ricebirds in a 4A Region IV District 25 challenge on Friday, March 24. The Ricebirds enter the challenge with a record of 11-2.
