Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting North Saxons (Torrance, CA), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Firebirds now own a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Arcadia for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 1. Chaparral will battle a Titans squad coming off a 11-4 non-league loss to Sunnyside (Tucson, AZ). The Titans record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, North falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Saxons host St. Anthony (Long Beach, CA) to battle the Saints in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 3. The Saints enter the challenge with a record of 2-5.
