Sanger Indians (Sanger, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Boyd Yellowjackets (Boyd, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pilot Point for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 4. Sanger will battle a Bearcats squad coming off a 11-0 league win over Valley View (Valley View, TX). The Bearcats record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Boyd falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Ponder (Ponder, TX) to battle the Lions in a 3A Region II District 10 challenge on Tuesday, March 2. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Ponder won 5-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Peaster (Peaster, TX)
