The Vela Sabercats baseball team scored 3 runs and held the host Taft Raiders to 1 in the Sabercats non-league win on Friday.

The Sabercats now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sinton for a non-league test on Friday, February 28. Vela will clash with a Pirates team coming off a 5-0 non-league win over Almeta Crawford (Rosharon, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 2-2.

With the defeat, Taft drops to 3-4 on the year. The Raiders travel to Almeta Crawford (Rosharon, TX) to clash with the Chargers in a non-league test on Saturday, March 1. The Chargers go into the test with a record of 5-1. Almeta Crawford lost 5-0 in their recent non-league test against Sinton (Sinton, TX)
