South Dakota High School Basketball - Yankton can't hold off Spearfish
February 28, 2025: Yankton, SD 57078 Spearfish Spartans (Spearfish, SD) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Yankton Bucks/Gazelles (Yankton, SD), 50-47 in a league match.
With the victory, Spearfish advances its record to 15-4 on the year. The Spartans travel to Brookings (Brookings, SD) to face the Bobcats in a AA challenge on Saturday, March 1. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a record of 9-9. Brookings lost 57-26 in their recent league challenge against Aberdeen Central (Aberdeen, SD)
In their next game, the Bucks/Gazelles encounter the Douglas Patriots (Box Elder, SD) in a AA challenge, on Saturday, March 1. Yankton will attempt to improve on its 0-20 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 2-18 record after their 52-28 league loss to Sturgis Brown (Sturgis, SD).
