In Friday's non-league bout, the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) baseball squad edged the host North Gaston Wildcats (Dallas, NC), by a tally of 2-1.

Next up, the Spartans encounter the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, March 4. South Caldwell will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Wildcats enter the bout with a 0-2 record after their 20-0 non-league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC).

The Wildcats (0-2) will now prepare for their bout against East Lincoln (Denver, NC). The Mustangs enter the non-league bout with a 1-0 record.
