In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Boswell Pioneers softball team scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Lovejoy Leopards.

The Pioneers (9-2) will now prepare for their match against Mansfield (Mansfield, TX). The Tigers go into the 6A Region I District 3 match with a 3-12 record. In their last match, Mansfield was edged by Centennial (Burleson, TX), 9-0, in a non-league game.

The Leopards now hold a 11-6 record. They play next when they travel to Anna for a 5A Region II District 9 game on Tuesday, March 3. Lovejoy will play a Coyotes squad coming off a 7-5 non-league win over Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, TX). The Coyotes record now stands at 8-8.
