The Hilltop Lancers softball team scored 5 runs and held the host Escondido Cougars to 4 in the Lancers non-league win on Saturday.

The Lancers now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Grossmont for a non-league battle on Monday, March 2. Hilltop will confront a Foothillers team coming off a 19-2 non-league win over Vista (Vista, CA). The Foothillers record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Escondido moves to 2-1 on the season. The Cougars travel to Coronado (Coronado, CA) to encounter the Islanders in a non-league outing on Tuesday, March 3. The Islanders come into the outing with a record of 0-2. Coronado lost 4-3 in their recent non-league outing against Ramona (Ramona, CA)
