In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting South Pontotoc Cougars basketball team scored a decisive 61-34 triumph over the Hamilton Lions.

In their next game, the Cougars meet the Houlka Wildcats (Houlka, MS) in a non-league match, on Friday, February 4. South Pontotoc will attempt to better on its 19-7 season record. The Wildcats enter the match with a 15-9 record after their 73-60 non-league win over Myrtle (Myrtle, MS).

With the defeat, Hamilton moves to 5-16 on the year. The Lions travel to Tupelo Christian Academy (Tupelo, MS) to play the Crusaders in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 4.
