Maryland High School Basketball - La Lumiere holds off Bishop Walsh
February 3, 2023: Cumberland, MD 21502 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the La Lumiere Lakers (La Porte, IN) and the host Bishop Walsh Spartans (Cumberland, MD), saw La Lumiere's basketball squad hold off Bishop Walsh by a tally of 80-73.
With the victory, La Lumiere improves its record to 12-7 on the campaign. The Lakers host Brother Rice (Chicago, IL) to confront the Crusaders in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a record of 24-4. Brother Rice lost 73-57 in their recent non-league challenge against Lemont (Lemont, IL)
Next up, the Spartans confront the Rockwood Rockets (Rockwood, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 3. Bishop Walsh will attempt to improve on its 6-17 season record. The Rockets come into the challenge with a 9-6 record after their 79-53 non-league win over Tussey Mountain (Saxton, PA).
