February 3, 2023: Peabody, MA 01960 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners (Peabody, MA) and the visiting Gloucester Fishermen (Gloucester, MA), saw Peabody Veterans Memorial's basketball squad knock off Gloucester by a count of 72-53.
With the victory, Peabody Veterans Memorial upgrades its record to 11-4 on the campaign. The Tanners host Manchester Essex (Manchester, MA) to play the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Sunday, February 5. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 14-1. Manchester Essex won 85-49 in their recent league challenge against Rockport (Rockport, MA)
Next up, the Fishermen play the Saugus Sachems (Saugus, MA) in a Northeastern - Small challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Gloucester will attempt to upgrade on its 8-6 season record. The Sachems come into the challenge with a 11-5 record after their 69-35 league loss to Salem (Salem, MA).
