Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Avonworth overwhelms Sewickley Academy
February 3, 2024: Sewickley, PA 15143 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Avonworth Antelopes (Pittsburgh, PA) and the host Sewickley Academy (Sewickley, PA), saw Avonworth's basketball squad wallop Sewickley Academy by a tally of 52-31.
With the victory, Avonworth improves its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Antelopes travel to Montour (McKees Rocks, PA) to confront the Spartans in a WPIAL 4A 4 challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 16-3. Montour won 71-29 in their recent league challenge against East Allegheny (North Versailles, PA)
Next up, the confront the Shenango Wildcats (New Castle, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 1 challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Sewickley Academy will attempt to improve on its 11-8 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 11-7 record after their 85-61 league win over South Side (Hookstown, PA).
