Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Gothenburg Swedes (Gothenburg, NE) and the visiting Minden Whippets (Minden, NE), saw Gothenburg's basketball squad wallop Minden by a tally of 71-48.

With the victory, Gothenburg improves its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Swedes travel to Chase County (Imperial, NE) to confront the Longhorns in a C1 District 11 challenge on Monday, February 5. The Longhorns come into the challenge with a record of 10-9. Chase County won 67-58 in their recent non-league challenge against Gering (Gering, NE)

Next up, the Whippets confront the Adams Central Patriots (Hastings, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Minden will attempt to improve on its 7-9 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 15-4 record after their 69-39 non-league win over Holdrege (Holdrege, NE).
