The Hoopeston (IL) varsity basketball team won Saturday's home non-conference game against Heritage (Broadlands, IL) by a score of 62-25.
The Hoopeston Cornjerkers basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Heritage Hawks to 25 in the Cornjerkers non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Cornjerkers now sport a 16-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Georgetown-Ridge Farm for a Vermilion Valley contest on Monday, February 5. Hoopeston will meet a Buffaloes team coming off a 37-32 league win over Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin (Bismarck, IL). The Buffaloes record now stands at 13-10.
The Hawks (2-25) will now prepare for their contest against Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] (Kansas, IL). The Titans enter the Lincoln Prairie contest with a 19-9 record. In their last contest, Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] triumphed over Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond (Arthur, IL), 66-42, in a league contest.
