In Tuesday's non-league contest, the host Cathedral Fighting Irish basketball team scored a close 51-45 triumph over the Silver Fighting Colts.

The Fighting Irish (16-11) will now prepare for their contest against Franklin (El Paso, TX). The Cougars go into the non-league contest with a 19-8 record. In their last contest, Franklin was tipped by Eastlake (El Paso, TX), 49-48, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Fighting Colts battle the Deming Wildcats (Deming, NM) in a 4A District 3 contest, on Thursday, February 5. Silver will attempt to better on its 11-9 season record.
