Virginia High School Basketball - Glenvar thwarts Salem
February 4, 2022: Salem, VA 24153 The Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA) basketball knocked off the visiting Salem Spartans (Salem, VA), 81-70 in Friday's non-league test.
The Highlanders (13-6) will now prepare for their test against Floyd County (Floyd, VA). The Buffaloes go into the Three Rivers test with a 9-9 record. In their last test, Floyd County notched a victory over Carroll County (Hillsville, VA), 65-64, in a league test.
The Spartans now own a 7-11 record. They play next when they travel to Blacksburg for a River Ridge test on Monday, February 7. Salem will encounter a Bruins squad coming off a 70-68 league loss to Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA). The Bruins record now stands at 12-5.
