Bad Axe Hatchets (Bad Axe, MI) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Peck Pirates (Peck, MI), 66-55 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Bad Axe upgrades its record to 13-2 on the campaign. The Hatchets travel to Laker (Pigeon, MI) to play the Lakers in a Greater Thumb - West bout on Friday, February 10. The Lakers come into the bout with a record of 9-3.

Next up, the Pirates play the Dryden Cardinals (Dryden, MI) in a North Central Thumb bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Peck will attempt to upgrade on its 10-5 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 56-52 league win over Akron-Fairgrove (Fairgrove, MI).
