In Saturday's non-league outing, the Montrose Red Hawks (Montrose, CO) basketball squad beat the visiting Battle Mountain Huskies (Edwards, CO), by a count of 42-27.

The Red Hawks (13-5) will now prepare for their outing against Fruita Monument (Fruita, CO). The Wildcats go into the 6A/5A Southwestern outing with a 16-2 record. In their last outing, Fruita Monument defeated Grand Junction Central (Grand Junction, CO), 44-39, in a league outing.
