Illinois High School Basketball - Christ the King overwhelms Providence-St. Mel
February 4, 2023: Chicago, IL 60644 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Christ the King Gladiators (Chicago, IL) and the visiting Providence-St. Mel Knights (Chicago, IL), saw Christ the King's basketball squad wallop Providence-St. Mel by a count of 75-25.
With the victory, Christ the King upgrades its record to 20-7 on the campaign. The Gladiators host Harvest Christian Academy (Elgin, IL) to play the Lions in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 9. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 21-6. Harvest Christian Academy lost 71-65 in their recent non-league challenge against Marian Central Catholic (Woodstock, IL)
Next up, the Knights play the Loyola Academy Ramblers (Wilmette, IL) in a Chicago Catholic - White challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Providence-St. Mel will attempt to upgrade on its 3-20 season record. The Ramblers come into the challenge with a 20-8 record after their 50-46 league loss to De La Salle (Chicago, IL).
