Rhode Island High School Ice Hockey - Smithfield drops to Woodstock Academy
February 4, 2023: Esmond, RI 02917 Woodstock Academy Centaurs (Woodstock, CT) fans left the game thrilled Saturday as they witnessed their ice hockey team achieve victory over the host Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI), 5-0 in a non-league match.
The Centaurs (11-1) will now prepare for their match against Housatonic/Northwestern/Wamogo (Falls Village, CT). The Mountaineers enter the Nutmeg Conference match with a 2-8 record. In their last match, Housatonic/Northwestern/Wamogo was trounced by Tri-Town (Ellington, CT), 6-2, in a non-league match.
Next up, the Sentinels encounter the La Salle Academy Rams (Providence, RI) in a State Championship Division match, on Friday, February 10. Smithfield will attempt to advance on its 5-7 season record. The Rams enter the match with a 10-5 record after their 4-3 non-league win over Darien (Darien, CT).
