Iowa High School Basketball - West Liberty thwarts Benton
February 5, 2024: West Liberty, IA 52776 The West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA) basketball knocked off the visiting Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA), 53-38 in Monday's non-league test.
The Comets (8-12) will now prepare for their test against Regina (Iowa City, IA). The Regals go into the River Valley test with a 14-4 record. In their last test, Regina went down by Mid-Prairie (Wellman, IA), 60-53, in a league test.
The Bobcats now own a 6-12 record. They play next when they host South Tama County for a WAMAC - West test on Tuesday, February 6. Benton will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 66-18 non-league win over Meskwaki Settlement (Tama, IA). The Trojans record now stands at 7-10.
