The Independent Panthers basketball team scored 71 points and restricted the host Cheney Cardinals to 41 in the Panthers non-league victory on Monday.

The Panthers now sport a 10-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Garden Plain for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 6. Independent will battle a Owls team coming off a 41-37 non-league loss to Conway Springs (Conway Springs, KS). The Owls record now stands at 3-12.

The Cardinals (11-4) will now prepare for their contest against Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, KS). The Dragons come into the non-league contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Belle Plaine triumphed over Udall (Udall, KS), 54-52, in a non-league contest.
