Virginia High School Basketball - Mathews ripped by Gloucester
February 5, 2024: Mathews, VA 23109 The Gloucester Dukes basketball team scored 49 points and held the host Mathews Blue Devils to 12 in the Dukes non-league triumph on Monday.
The Dukes now sport a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Phoebus for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 6. Gloucester will meet a Phantoms team coming off a 63-35 non-league win over Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA). The Phantoms record now stands at 10-5.
The Blue Devils (1-13) will now prepare for their contest against King & Queen Central (King & Queen Court House, VA). The Royal Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 0-10 record. In their last contest, King & Queen Central was routed by Essex (Tappahannock, VA), 50-17, in a non-league contest.
