The Tintic Miners (Eureka, UT) basketball toppled the visiting Vanguard Academy Knights (West Valley City, UT), 68-55 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Miners now possess a 9-10 record. They play next when they host Tabiona for a 1A Region 22 bout on Saturday, February 7. Tintic will play a Tigers team coming off a 63-50 league loss to Rich (Randolph, UT). The Tigers record now stands at 12-9.

With the loss, Vanguard Academy falls to 7-14 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Merit Preparatory Academy (Springville, UT) to play the Knights in a 2A Region 16 test on Friday, February 6. The Knights come into the test with a record of 15-7. Merit Preparatory Academy won 45-43 in their recent league test against Rockwell (Eagle Mountain, UT)
