February 6, 2023: Redding, CT 06896 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) and the host Joel Barlow Falcons (Redding, CT), saw Newtown's basketball squad knock off Joel Barlow by a tally of 39-21.
With the victory, Newtown improves its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Nighthawks host Bunnell (Stratford, CT) to play the Bulldogs in a Southwest - Patriot challenge on Thursday, February 9. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 2-16. Bunnell lost 50-16 in their recent league challenge against Notre Dame Catholic (Fairfield, CT)
Next up, the Falcons play the Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT) in a Southwest - Patriot challenge, on Thursday, February 9. Joel Barlow will attempt to improve on its 5-13 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 15-2 record after their 45-22 league win over New Fairfield (New Fairfield, CT).
