Ohio High School Basketball - Newton Local holds off Botkins
February 6, 2024: Pleasant Hill, OH 45359 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Newton Local Indians (Pleasant Hill, OH) and the visiting Botkins Trojans (Botkins, OH), saw Newton Local's basketball squad hold off Botkins by a tally of 62-60.
With the victory, Newton Local improves its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Indians host National Trail (New Paris, OH) to confront the Blazers in a Western Ohio challenge on Friday, February 9. The Blazers come into the challenge with a record of 8-11. National Trail lost 85-39 in their recent league challenge against Tri-Village (New Madison, OH)
Next up, the Trojans confront the Russia Raiders (Russia, OH) in a Shelby County challenge, on Friday, February 9. Botkins will attempt to improve on its 14-4 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 18-1 record after their 78-26 league win over Fairlawn (Sidney, OH).
