Illinois High School Basketball - Northside nips Maine West
February 6, 2024: Des Plaines, IL 60018 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Northside Mustangs (Chicago, IL) and the host Maine West Warriors (Des Plaines, IL), saw Northside's basketball squad hold off Maine West by a count of 54-52.
With the victory, Northside upgrades its record to 14-12 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Payton College Prep (Chicago, IL) to play the Grizzlies in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 8. The Grizzlies come into the challenge with a record of 9-14. Payton College Prep lost 57-30 in their recent non-league challenge against Curie (Chicago, IL)
Next up, the Warriors play the Vernon Hills Cougars (Vernon Hills, IL) in a Central Suburban - North challenge, on Friday, February 9. Maine West will attempt to upgrade on its 4-21 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 15-11 record after their 58-54 non-league win over Grayslake North (Grayslake, IL).
