In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers basketball team scored a good 80-68 triumph over the Cromwell Cardinals.

The Rangers (17-4) will now prepare for their contest against Nashwauk-Keewatin (Nashwauk, MN). The Spartans go into the A Section 7 contest with a 5-10 record.

In their next game, the Cardinals confront the Cook County Vikings (Grand Marais, MN) in a A Section 7 contest, on Friday, February 7. Cromwell will attempt to better on its 12-6 season record. The Vikings go into the contest with a 7-8 record after their 70-44 league win over Fond du Lac Ojibwe Ogichida (Cloquet, MN).
