February 6, 2025: Holcombe, WI 54745 Thorp Cardinals (Thorp, WI) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Lake Holcombe Chieftains (Holcombe, WI), 52-40 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Thorp upgrades its record to 1-17 on the year. The Cardinals travel to Bloomer (Bloomer, WI) to face the Blackhawks in a Cloverbelt - West match on Tuesday, February 11. The Blackhawks enter the match with a record of 10-9.
The Chieftains now sport a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bruce for a Lakeland - East match on Friday, February 7. Lake Holcombe will face a Red Raiders squad coming off a 41-35 league loss to Prairie Farm (Prairie Farm, WI). The Red Raiders record now stands at 4-11.
