The Hawthorne (NJ) varsity basketball team lost Monday's neutral non-conference game against Lakeland Regional (Wanaque, NJ) by a score of 58-49.
The Lakeland Regional Lancers basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Hawthorne Bears to 49 in the Lancers non-league victory on Monday.
The Lancers now sport a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fair Lawn for a Big North - Independence contest on Thursday, February 10. Lakeland Regional will battle a Cutters team coming off a 53-41 non-league loss to Academy of the Holy Angels (Demarest, NJ). The Cutters record now stands at 8-6.
The Bears (6-6) will now prepare for their contest against Rutherford (Rutherford, NJ). The Bulldogs come into the Northwest Jersey - Colonial contest with a 11-3 record. In their last contest, Rutherford prevailed over Eastern Christian (North Haledon, NJ), 56-19, in a league contest.
