Minnesota High School Basketball - Martin County West can't hold off Westbrook-Walnut Grove
February 7, 2023: Westbrook, MN 56183 The Martin County West Mavericks basketball team (Sherburn, MN), was nudged 68-61 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers (Westbrook, MN)
The Chargers now possess a 18-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Springfield for a non-league battle on Thursday, February 9. Westbrook-Walnut Grove will battle a Tigers team coming off a 71-59 league win over New Ulm Cathedral (New Ulm, MN). The Tigers record now stands at 10-8.
The Mavericks (13-9) will now prepare for their battle against Loyola (Mankato, MN). The Crusaders come into the A Section 2 battle with a 15-5 record. In their last battle, Loyola edged Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther/Truman (Granada, MN), 66-42, in a league battle.
