Ohio High School Basketball - Oakwood nips Monroe
February 8, 2024: Monroe, OH 45050 Oakwood Lumberjacks (Dayton, OH) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Monroe Hornets (Monroe, OH), 37-34 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Oakwood upgrades its record to 12-10 on the season. The Lumberjacks host Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, OH) to play the Rams in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 17. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 7-15. Trotwood-Madison won 49-45 in their recent non-league challenge against Gamble Montessori (Cincinnati, OH)
Next up, the Hornets confront the Preble Shawnee Arrows (Camden, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 10. Monroe will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Arrows come into the challenge with a 6-13 record after their 51-33 league loss to Mississinawa Valley (Union City, OH).
