Waconia Wildcats (Waconia, MN) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm (Sauk Rapids, MN), 67-58 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Waconia upgrades its record to 8-13 on the campaign. The Wildcats host New Prague (New Prague, MN) to play the Trojans in a non-league bout on Friday, February 9. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 13-8. New Prague lost 88-54 in their recent non-league bout against Benilde-St. Margaret's (St. Louis Park, MN)

Next up, the Storm play the Moorhead Spuds (Moorhead, MN) in a AAAA Section 8 bout, on Saturday, February 10. Sauk Rapids-Rice will attempt to upgrade on its 8-14 season record. The Spuds come into the bout with a 5-16 record after their 65-58 league loss to Brainerd (Brainerd, MN).
