In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Lincoln Abes basketball team scored a good 54-40 triumph over the Thornton Wildcats.

The Abes (15-4) will now prepare for their contest against Catholic Central (Grand Rapids, MI). The Cougars go into the non-league contest with a 11-6 record. In their last contest, Catholic Central was topped by Ottawa Hills (Grand Rapids, MI), 79-55, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Rich Township Raptors (Olympia Fields, IL) in a Southland contest, on Monday, February 10. Thornton will attempt to better on its 8-17 season record. The Raptors go into the contest with a 18-7 record after their 71-63 non-league win over Hillcrest (Country Club Hills, IL).
