The Shelby Valley Wildcats (Pikeville, KY) basketball edged the host Prestonsburg Blackcats (Prestonsburg, KY), 78-74 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Wildcats now possess a 10-9 record. They play next when they host Owsley County for a non-league bout on Saturday, February 8. Shelby Valley will play a Owls / Lady Owls team coming off a 66-45 non-league win over Lynn Camp (Corbin, KY). The Owls / Lady Owls record now stands at 7-17.

With the loss, Prestonsburg falls to 9-11 on the campaign. The Blackcats travel to Jackson County (McKee, KY) to play the Generals in a non-league bout on Monday, February 10.
