Alabama High School Soccer - Athens nudges Tharptown
February 8, 2025: Athens, AL 35612 Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Athens Golden Eagles (Athens, AL) and the visiting Tharptown Wildcats (Russellville, AL), saw Athens's soccer squad hold off Tharptown by a count of 1-0.
The Golden Eagles (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against Buckhorn (New Market, AL). The Bucks enter the non-league battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Buckhorn tipped Austin (Decatur, AL), 2-1, in a non-league battle.
Next up, the Wildcats battle the West Limestone Wildcats (Lester, AL) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, February 13. Tharptown will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record.
