The Newtown Nighthawks basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Torrington Raiders to 38 in the Nighthawks non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Nighthawks now sport a 11-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Joel Barlow for a Southwest contest on Thursday, February 10. Newtown will meet a Falcons team coming off a 57-50 non-league win over Morgan (Clinton, CT). The Falcons record now stands at 8-7.

The Raiders (8-7) will now prepare for their contest against Wolcott (Wolcott, CT). The Eagles enter the Naugatuck Valley - Iron contest with a 3-11 record. In their last contest, Wolcott was routed by St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT), 59-39, in a league contest.
