Silver Lake Mustangs (Roseland, NE) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Meridian Mustangs (Daykin, NE), 65-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Silver Lake upgrades its record to 16-4 on the season. The Mustangs host Shelton (Shelton, NE) to clash with the Bulldogs in a D2 District 7 bout on Friday, February 16. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 19-1. Shelton won 78-24 in their recent non-league bout against Harvard (Harvard, NE)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles (Bruning, NE) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 16. Meridian will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 8-11 record after their 60-53 non-league loss to High Plains (Polk, NE).
