Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Breese Central Cougars (Breese, IL) and the visiting Carterville Lions (Carterville, IL), saw Breese Central's basketball squad wallop Carterville by a tally of 56-33.

With the victory, Breese Central improves its record to 28-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 27-6. Pinckneyville won 56-43 in their recent non-league challenge against Massac County (Metropolis, IL)
