Texas High School Softball - Malakoff can't get by Van
March 1, 2025: Malakoff, TX 75148 Van Vandals (Van, TX) backers left the game pleased Saturday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Malakoff Tigers (Malakoff, TX), 5-4 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Van upgrades its record to 10-5 on the year. The Vandals host Athens (Athens, TX) to play the Hornets in a non-league game on Tuesday, March 4. The Hornets enter the game with a record of 7-3. Athens lost 16-8 in their recent non-league game against Rice (Rice, TX)
The Tigers now own a 9-4 record. They play next when they host Edgewood for a 3A Region II District 12 game on Tuesday, March 4. Malakoff will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 13-0 non-league win over Commerce (Commerce, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 9-6.
