In Monday's non-league game, the host Hale Center Owls baseball team scored a close 8-7 victory over the Springlake-Earth Wolverines.

The Owls (6-4) will now prepare for their game against Sudan (Sudan, TX). The Hornets enter the 2A Region I District 3 game with a 7-3 record.
