Texas High School Softball - Weimar holds off Austin
March 11, 2023: Weimar, TX 78962 Weimar Wildcats (Weimar, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Austin Maroons (Austin, TX), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.
The Wildcats now sport a 17-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Navarro for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 11. Weimar will face a Panthers squad coming off a 6-3 non-league win over Lufkin (Lufkin, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 11-8.
With the loss, Austin falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Maroons host Akins (Austin, TX) to face the Eagles in a 6A Region IV District 26 challenge on Monday, March 13. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 3-6. Akins lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Dripping Springs (Dripping Springs, TX)
